Group classes are a great way to get started or to refresh knowledge lost over time. Information is presented in a relaxed and positive way to maximize the learning experience and the fun! Classes run in either eight-week or four-week sessions. Tuition includes class and course materials.

All courses are taught at Baxter Northup Music, located at 14534 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, unless otherwise noted.

Course offerings for September 2009:

Guitar 101
This is the perfect class for those picking up the guitar for the first time or with very little previous experience. Students will learn open chords, simple strumming and basic music notation using songs from a variety of musical genres. No previous experience necessary.
When: 12:00 - 1:15 p.m., Sundays
Start date: September 13; runs for eight weeks
Ages: Adult

*NEW* Rock Guitar for Girls
A class just for teen girls! Students get an introduction to open chords, power chords, simple scales and all things rock! Material drawn from female artists and songwriters.
Start date and time: to be announced; eight-week course
Ages: 12-17, Girls only please!
Cost: $175.00

*NEW* Lunchtime Series: Three-Chord Rock!
This class is devoted to songs comprised of only three chords. Work with a new trio every week and add to your repertoire. Previous experience necessary and consent of instructor required.
When: 12:15 - 1:00 p.m., Tuesday
Start date: September 22, runs for four weeks
Ages: Adult
Cost: $60.00
